Erste Bank a devenit a doua banca din Ungaria

O stire a agentiei de presa Interfax Hungary Business News Service anunta ca reteaua Erste Bank Hungary Rt, subsidiara grupului cu acelasi nume care a castigat procesul de privatizare al BCR, a devenit a doua ca marime din Ungaria.

 
Erste Bank continua astfel procesul de consolidare pe piata bancara din Europa Centrala si de Est, urmandu-si strategia de a deveni liderul pietei financiare din regiune.

Erste Bank Hungary Rta anuntat joi ca a devenit al doilea jucator ca marime pe piata bancara din Ungaria si intentioneaza sa aiba o expansiune a retelei in Europa Centrala si de Est de 25% in 2006.
 
Erste Bank Hungary Rt, the Hungarian unit of the Austrian banking group, announced on Thursday that its branch network has now become the second largest in the country, and that it plans a further 25% expansion of the network in 2006. "On Wednesday, Erste Bank opened two new branches in Budapest, raising the number of its retail units to 162, making it the second-largest bank branch network in Hungary," the bank said in a statement. With the new openings, Erste edged ahead of previous second-place holder K&H Bank, a unit of Belgium's KBC Bank. However, leading bank OTP remains well ahead of the rest of the pack, with K&H and Erste together not likely to have as many branches as OTP alone by the end of the year. OTP has a network of some 450 units in the country.
 
Erste said that after opening 21 new branches last year, it plans to expand its network to reach 200 units by the end of 2006, meaning nearly 40 additional branch openings this year, an increase of 25%. K&H has said that it plans to open 30 new branches in Hungary over the next three years, while OTP does not plan a further expansion of its branch network.
