Master of Laws (LL.M.) at the University of Illinois, College of LAW
The Illinois LL.M. program is designed to introduce international law students to the U.S. legal system while also providing the opportunity for further study in their own area of academic or professional interest. Students enroll in one required class "Introduction to U.S.Law" and take their remaining courses with J.D. students, choosing from the large selection of regular college offerings. The LL.M. degree requires 32 credit hours and is normally completed in one academic year. Applicants must hold a first degree in law from an accredited institution which should be the equivalent of the J.D. or
LL.B. degree.

The competition "Frieden fur Europa - Europa fur den Frieden" is open to entries from international school and youth-group partnerships. Partners from Germany and Central and Eastern Europe or Israel may enter a joint project for funding.

Research Fellowships: Children Negotiating the Everyday in the Geography of Violence (Johns Hopkins University)
The Child on the Wing is a project of the Department of Anthropology at the Johns Hopkins University, funded by the Rockefeller Foundation Resident Fellowships in the Humanities and the Study of Culture Program. The project focuses on the mobile trajectories of children's lives under conditions of ongoing political violence and economic uncertainty. There will be a workshop in October of the Fall Semester of the academic year 2006-2007 in which we shall discuss the moral creativity of children through such practices as storytelling, artistic creation and the creation of self through engagement with the social institutions in their local worlds.
Abstracts of 250 words are invited along with the a CV and a writing sample from applicants to take up fellowships for a one-week residence at Johns Hopkins University that will culminate in the workshop described above. There will be intensive dialogue and discussions during that week. Applicants should be at least three years beyond receipt of the PhD or have three years of experience with NGOs or policy making. The fellowship includes support for travel and accommodation. Application deadline: February 15 2006.
