JOB: Research assistant, UK and East Asian labor market

I would like to appoint a postgraduate/ PhD intern to carry out
research for my book entitled The IPE of Employability: Skills
Revolutions, East and West. The project makes a comparative analysis
of contrasting interpretations of the impact of labour market
flexibility in the post-industrial international political economy.
Previous research reveals that the expansion of particular ideas
regarding what makes workers employable is now happening in an
increasing cross-section of the developed and developing world. But
where has this 'master discourse' of flexibility and come from? Who
makes the rules in this shrinking world? Most importantly, what has
the impact been on workers and their livelihoods and day to day lives?
I am a lecturer in International Politics at Lincoln University.

JOB: Lecturership in Politics, Oxford University

DEPARTMENTAL LECTURERSHIP IN POLITICS
GRADE 7: SALARY GBP 24,886 to GBP 30,607 P.A.

The Department of International Development (Queen Elizabeth House), Oxford
University, urgently seeks applications for a 12 month, full-time
Departmental Lecturership in Politics, or 2 part-time Departmental
Lecturerships in Politics, to serve the new M.Sc. in Global Governance and
Diplomacy. The degree will provide high quality graduate training in the
processes and institutions and of global governance, multilateralism,
regional integration, and diplomacy. The M.Sc. will prepare students for
careers in diplomacy and/or the transnational and regional institutions of
international governance including international organizations,
non-governmental organizations, and private-sector firms working with these
institutions.

A doctorate in Political Science or Politics and International Relations is
preferred, but advanced ABDs will be considered. The Department wishes to
make this appointment urgently, by early August and the appointment will be
tenable from 1 September 2005 or as soon as possible thereafter.
